What exactly is NAD+?

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is a naturally occurring coenzyme produced by the body. NAD+ is utilized to promote ATP (a nucleotide that provides energy to our cells) which allows our cells to function properly. When there is an issue in the use and recycling of NAD+, ATP production can be affected/reduced and lead to Mitochondrial Dysfunction. This Mitochondrial Dysfunction is implicated in many chronic disorders (autoimmune and metabolic, for example) as well as neurological conditions like anxiety and depression. By restoring NAD+ level, ATP production gets optimized and may slow down disease progression.
